Would a database help your business?
Have you ever considered what a database can do for your company? Here is a list of some of the types of databases I have created for my clients:
- Simple Customer databases
- Tracks customer addresses, how and when they were contacted, which mailings they received, whether they responded or not
- Accounts Receivable programs
- Don't you get tired of off the shelf solutions that never seem to fit your business?
- Inventory tracking databases
- Keep track of what is in stock, what has been shipped and when, what has been re-ordered
- Donor database for use at not-for-profit businesses
- Track donor names and addresses, how their donations are solicited, how they responded, what they donated and when
- Resume and Job Order tracking program
- For use by Human Resources departments or employment agencies
Databases can be created using many different technologies. If you have a small business with a few potential users, a Microsoft Access database might be appropriate. Microsoft Access is available as part of Microsoft Office Professional.
For larger companies or large databases, Microsoft SQL Server may be more appropriate.
If you need to access your data via the internet, the interface could be created using ASP.NET and Visual Basic.NET.
